AGI partners with Agilent Technologies for improved virtual flight testing of radar systems

Extensive flight testing using physical aircraft is prohibitively expensive, especially in today’s tight financial times. Further adding to the complexity, the results from one flight run to the next are not repeatable, due to factors such as speed attitude, pilot awareness and Sun angle. To ensure the most effective use of resources, it is essential to evaluate flight scenarios in advance of live tests. Combining the capabilities of AGI’s Systems Tool Kit (STK) and Agilent’s SystemVue software to perform virtual flight testing enables repeatable testing and hundreds of “what if” scenarios. SystemVue models the signal generation, DSP and radio frequency (RF) processing, while STK models the aircraft profile, flight dynamics and propagation. This allows the testing of multiple radar scenarios with your existing, or proposed, system—quickly and repeatedly.
