NASA now predicts its Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) will deorbit Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, United States time. Most of the spacecraft--the size of a school bus (5.7 metric tons)--will burn up in the atmosphere, although 26 pieces are expected to survive reentry.
