A PSLV launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in India on February 25, carrying seven satellites to orbit. The satellites included: SARAL, a French-Indian ocean research satellite; AAUSAT 3, a CubeSat from Aalborg University in Denmark that will monitor ship traffic; Sapphire, Canada's first operational military satellite; NEOSSAT, a Canadian satellite that will look for asteroids; STRaND 1, the world's first satellite with a smart-phone nanosatellite; and CANX 3A (BRITE -Austria) and CANX 3B (UNIBRITE), which will study the brightest stars.
The NORAD catalog (or SSN) numbers for these satellites are: SARAL - 39086; AAUSAT3 - 39087; SAPPHIRE - 39088; NOESSAT - 39089; STRAND 1 - 39090; CANX 3A (BRITE - Austria) - 39091; and CANX 3B (UNIBRITE) - 39092.
