Collection planning for complex satellites with numerous (and oftentimes poorly understood constraints) is a challenge. Riverside Research
, an AGI business partner
whose Modeling & Application Development Laboratory (MAD Lab) develop
s custom prototype automation for advanced decision-aid applications, has provided an answer to this challenge: the ACPT.
The Automated Collection Planning Tool has AGI capabilities embedded via STK Engine
and is a low-cost, low-risk customizable solution that develops dynamic collection plans in less than 15 minutes. It is currently automating TACSAT-3 collection planning for the Air Force Space Command and assists the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) with daily/weekly collection plans for the Multispectral Thermal Imager.
